Multi-tiered Systems of Support
Des Moines Public Schools envisions an aligned system of continuous improvement where every student learns, thrives, belongs, and graduates fully equipped for the next stage of life. MTSS is the framework that brings this vision to life by integrating academic, behavioral, and social-emotional instruction, interventions, and data‑based decision‑making. A healthy MTSS ensures that all learners receive high-quality, differentiated instruction and interventions at the level of intensity they need to be successful. The DMPS MTSS Handbook centralizes resources and recommendations for a PK-12 MTSS system.
The Assessment, Data, and Evaluation department also supports MTSS at Des Moines Public Schools with the data analysis tools and protocols below.
