Collaborative Problem-Solving Process:
Aligning School Improvement, Federal and State Requirements, and Strategic Priorities
The DMPS Collaborative Problem-Solving Process (CPSP) is a tool that aligns numerous bodies of work into a unified action plan. This includes:

- all required components of a Title IA Schoolwide Plan
- all required components of the IDOE Differentiated Accountability System
- strategic district work

Under the Iowa ESSA plan, schools are scored on a set of accountability measures. Ratings based on the scores identify schools for support and improvement (Comprehensive and Targeted) based on the scores. Schools with Targeted or Comprehensive ESSA designations must engage in specific school improvement activities, which are included in the CPSP.
