ACHIEVE IEP System Data and Tableau Reports (12.22.2022)
With the transition to the new statewide IEP system, DMPS is not yet able to access data out of ACHIEVE for reporting purposes. Therefore, the following Tableau reports are not being updated with 2022-23 data until further notice:
Panorama Family Relationship Survey: January 4 - 27 (12.21.2022)
DMPS will administer the Panorama Family Relationship Survey to grades PK-12 families this winter from January 4th – January 27th. We will utilize IC Messenger and Snap Connect to send the survey link to families. Families should complete one survey for each building that their student(s) attend. Families that have multiple students in the same building should only complete one survey for that building. The end of the Panorama Family Survey will prompt families to complete another survey if they have a student in another building. This communication with full information was shared with Panorama SEL survey contacts in each school. Please direct questions regarding the administration of this survey to Jeffery.Panek@dmschools.org Thanks! |

SAMI Canvas Course Unpublished & Holding of Other ESSA Activities (11.22.2022)
With the Iowa Department of Education re-releasing the SAMI (Self-Assessment of MTSS Implementation) in January 2023 with a shortened version, we have unpublished the SAMI course for school leaders in Canvas. Once the new SAMI is released from the state, we will edit the course to align with the latest version and re-publish it to Canvas. ESSA designated schools can hold on completing the SAMI, data review, or other ESSA activities at this time. We are hoping to get some questions answered from the state soon (like school improvement fund allocations for Title I schools) and will be sharing more information about how DMPS will be incorporating the ESSA required activities into our existing work in December.

This will improve security by removing roles and assignments from previous years that are no longer valid.Users will experience the following:
- Every current user will get an email from the portal announcing that they have had roles assigned. This is okay, it’s just confirming that the valid roles are still there.
- Roles that are no longer active in Infinite Campus will disappear from the portal. This means that some users will lose access to functionality they should no longer have.
- If users lose access that they believe they should continue to have, email kayleigh.koester@dmschools.org on Monday, November 7 for resolution.

Spring 2022 ISASP Results Available (8.2.2022)
The 2022 ISASP results have been uploaded into Infinite Campus and are now available for you to view in several places. Views in Tableau are available here: https://tableau.dmps.k12.ia.us/#/workbooks/2038/views. In Tableau, you can view results from 2019 to 2022 at the district, building, and student levels disaggregated by Race, FRL, ELL, IEP, and Gender. You can also see growth in Math and ELA for those students who tested in 2021 and 2022. (We will work next on getting percent correct by domain loaded into Tableau and will notify you when that report is available.)
Pearson also provides Published Reports. These can be found by logging-in to Pearson > Reports > Published Reports. The reports of interest are:
Parents will be notified later this week that their student’s ISASP scores are available. The assessment team will send a message via IC messenger directing parents/guardians to Pearson’s Parent Portal. The message will contain their access code along with Pearson’s ISASP Parent Portal Access Guide so they can retrieve their student’s results. The IC Messenger will also contain a link to translated directions on how to access the portal. These translated directions will not contain the illustrations that are included in the resources from Pearson. A message will also be sent via SchoolCNXT informing parents to view their IC Parent Portal account for information on how to retrieve their student’s results. Only those students who took the ISASP tests this spring will have an access code. Access Codes can also be found on the Test Code Information tab in Infinite Campus. We will also send you copies of the message so you are aware of all communication going out to families.
Schools should be prepared to support families who may have language and/or technology barriers gain access to their student’s results. Please review the ISASP Parent Portal Access Guide so you can support families who have questions. Also, be familiar with how to print student reports for those situations where a parent/guardian does not have access to Pearson’s Parent Portal.
If you have any questions, please contact Jeffery.Panek@dmschools.org

2022-23 Continuous School Improvement Timeline (7.8.2022)
The Iowa Department of Education is renewing their investment in ESSA supports and improvements in the 2022-23 school year. New targeted and comprehensive designations will be released in the fall/winter of the 2022-23 school year with requirements for schools receiving targeted or comprehensive supports reenacted. A timeline of what we expect for the 2022-23 school year is linked. However, the Iowa Department of Education has signaled that there will be additional, not yet defined, requirements for schools with extended designations. (Extended = had a designation before 2022-23 and is re-identified in that area in 2022-23.)

Infinite Campus Calendar Year Change (7.1.2022)
July 1 is the beginning of a new calendar year in Infinite Campus. With the switch over, the new calendars and all associated information will be visible on the parent and student portal. Per usual, DMPS will be hiding all schedules and homeroom teachers from view until closer to the beginning of school. All secondary buildings will have their schedules visible on August 11th. Elementary buildings will need to send Margi Neve (margaret.neve@dmschools.org) the date they want theirs schedules visible to parents. Access to the 2021-22 year will be changed to read only.
Students and staff rosters will be sent to SchoolCNXT tomorrow night, but no classroom/section information will be imported. This will allow you to send building wide messages to students and families, but classroom messages will not be available until closer to the beginning of the school year. This is a district wide setting and cannot be changed for individual buildings.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Margi Neve.

- We will not collect EL & IM unit assessments through MasteryConnect (we still expect EL & IM unit assessments to be administered and utilized as evidence in the gradebook).
- We are adjusting our use of screeners in the FastBridge assessment suite. The largest adjustments will be made to the middle school screeners, as all middle school screeners in 2022-23 will be whole-group administered and provide valid grade-level norms.
