District Interim Assessments
(Interim Assessments discontinued for the 2022-23 school year)
Background
The DMPS District Interim Assessments are utilized so our assessment system:
DMPS is replacing MAP Growth with new district interim assessments that directly align to EL and Illustrative Math. These assessments were developed by EL and Illustrative Math and will be delivered through an online assessment tool called MasteryConnect. This change is driven by our DMPS Goal Action Plan and three of the four Universal Tier Levers in that action plan: Implementation of a High Quality Curriculum, Access to Grade Level Expectations, and a Data Literacy/Balanced Assessment System. Each of these levers has a defined desired state which require the use of effective and aligned tools for monitoring, the most critical being predictive measures of student outcomes. Through the adoption of the new district interim assessments, the assessment features we are working to better align with our Goal Action Plan are:

- Measures our success in providing students access to high-quality grade-level core instruction
- Limits bias by utilizing shared experiences as background knowledge
- Directly aligns with the curriculum to provide true feedback and evidence of learning to teachers and students
