2017-18 Staff Survey Calendar
To assist staff in navigating survey completion requests, we have compiled a calendar of district-approved staff surveys for the 2017-18 year. We hope this calendar assists staff in prioritizing surveys for completion. Fall MAP Assessment Window Open TODAY
Fall MAP testing is open through October 2. Kindergarten through first grade will take the math assessment. Second through tenth grade will the both the math and reading assessments. Guidance for the 2017-2018 MAP administration is located here. Gallup Student Poll: September 25 - October 27
Our district will be administering the Gallup Student Poll again this fall to students in grades 5-12 from September 25 to October 27. Measuring the hope of engagement of students fits directly into our collective work around Cultural Proficiency and School For Rigor. Through these efforts, we are intentionally creating conditions necessary for ALL students to engage with meaningful and challenging content under the support and guidance of adults who care for and understand their needs as a learner and individual. Iowa's ESSA Plan
The third and final draft of Iowa's state ESSA plan is posted for review. The Iowa Department of Education is collecting feedback on the plan via an online survey through September 11. |
Online Registration
As of September 5, we have 32,382 students registered for the 2017-18 school year--that's over 95%! Registration is REQUIRED for all students. It is imperative that we have current contact information and data for families and students. Additionally, federal Title I funding is dependent on registration and the Household Economic Survey. Survey Monkey will no longer be an accepted vendor for Des Moines Public Schools. If you are currently using Survey Monkey to administer any surveys or professional development feedback forms, we will be transitioning the platform for that work to Qualtrics. An overview of the Qualtrics survey platform is located here. If you need assistance conducting a survey through Qualtrics, contact David Roney. SRG Support Ticket
We believe we have all wide-spread SRG gradebook issues resolved. If teachers encounter any issues with their SRG gradebooks, they can fill out a support ticket located here. Continuous Improvement Update
