Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP)Troubleshooting
We observed ISASP testing at Central Academy, Lincoln, and North last week and were impressed by the preparation and troubleshooting skills of teachers and administrators. Overall, the ISASP is off to a smooth start at DMPS. We are doing our best to keep up with phone calls and emails regarding ISASP. Here's who you can contact with ISASP questions (you can check the ISASP canvas course as well):
2019-20 Online Registration Processor(s)
Please Click here to designate your Online Registration Processor(s) for your building for the 2019-20 school year. Once you complete the form, an automated email will be sent to the designee with the training date options. OLR processors need to have access to certain portions of IC, and are typically one of the following: office managers, office clerks, building associates, attendance clerks, counselors, registrars, and/ or schedulers. Other staff members such as teachers, paras, and consultants for example, do not typically have the access needed to be able to process applications and should not be designated. Schools Identified for Targeted Supports: Problem-Solving Process and ESSA Action Planning Workshop
We have scheduled workshops for schools identified for Targeted support under ESSA to engage in the DMPS Collaborative Problem-Solving Process and complete their ESSA action plans. Schools identified for targeted support must submit action plans via CASA by May 15. We highly encourage schools identified for targeted supports to sign up for a workshop time if they have not done so already. More information about the workshops is located here. |
Dashboard of the Month: High School Topic Recovery
The High School Topic Recovery dashboard displays students with a transcribed grade of F or IP and their topic scores for those failed or in-progress courses. The purpose of this dashboard is to identify students to target for topic recovery and their corresponding courses and topic scores. Conditions for Learning Survey Opens April 3
The Conditions for Learning Survey from the Iowa Department of Education opens on Wednesday, April 3. Schools will receive a list of any students who opted out via the district form on Monday, April 1. The DMPS survey administration plan is located here. ADE Team Restructure
Congratulations to Chris Holm, who is adding the task of being the data team supervisor to his current workload. Chris will work to ensure that our work around Infinite Campus, BusinessPlus, and data analysis/reporting (Tableau) is aligned and moving forward. Continuous Improvement Update

WAIT... WHAT?
Dear Data Diva:
We have started looking at next year’s schedule, but I am worried about the numbers. I know we have high mobility in the district and there have been several new students enrolled in the district since the mass roll over happened in September. What should my school be doing to make sure we have everyone enrolled for next year in the correct building?
Sincerely,
Next Year’s Numbers

Dear Next Year’s Numbers,
I love to help with a data clean up situation! If the student is enrolled in your building and is not transitioning to a new building next year (5th to 6th or 8th to 9th):
Any 5th or 8th grader that has left the district, transferred DMPS schools or enrolled in DMPS since September will need to have their 19-20 enrollment record created/adjusted. You will need to communicate with the enrollment staff at the middle school or registrar at the high school depending on the grade level.

To find all students with no future enrollment, run the report found in Census > Reports> ‘No Future Enrollment’

I love to help with a data clean up situation! If the student is enrolled in your building and is not transitioning to a new building next year (5th to 6th or 8th to 9th):
- Your staff in charge of enrollments can create the 19-20 enrollment record. This should be a part of the enrollment process for all new students after the mass roll over.
- If the student transfers DMPS buildings mid-year, your staff needs to end date the future enrollment. The new building (receiving school) will need to create the new future enrollment.
- Any student that leaves the district needs to have their future enrollment record ended along with the current enrollment record.
Any 5th or 8th grader that has left the district, transferred DMPS schools or enrolled in DMPS since September will need to have their 19-20 enrollment record created/adjusted. You will need to communicate with the enrollment staff at the middle school or registrar at the high school depending on the grade level.
8th Grade Students
- If the 8th grade student is leaving the district, the high school (which is listed on the enrollment page) will need to be contacted so they can end the enrollment record.
- If the 8th grade student is transferring to another DMPS middle school and this changes the high school they will attend in 19-20, both the original high school and the new high school will need to be contacted.
- If the 8th grade student enrolled after September, the high school registrar will need to be contacted to create a 19-20 enrollment for the student.
5th Grade Students
- If the 5th grade student is leaving the district, the middle school (which is listed on the enrollment page) will need to be contacted so they can end the enrollment record.
- If the 5th grade student is transferring to another DMPS elementary school and this changes the middle school they will attend in 19-20, both the original middle school and the new middle school will need to be contacted.
- If the 5th grade student enrolled after September, the middle school will need to be contacted to create a 19-20 enrollment for the student.
