Updated Elementary Testing Windows
We recently discovered that the Iowa Department of Education changed the FAST testing windows at the end of May for the 2019-20 school year. We are changing fall and winter FAST and MAP testing windows so that FAST testing will occur within the state-approved window. Here are the changes to the testing windows:

Test Coordinator Training: Preparing for Fall 2019
We will be conducting informative training sessions on test setup, administration, trouble-shooting and reports. This is an optional training to prepare for FAST and MAP testing this fall. You can sign up for one of the training sessions here. All training sessions will be held in conference room B at 2100 Fleur. Dates and Times: FAST: Monday, August 5th, 2019 - 1:00pm – 2:00pm Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 - 2:30pm – 3:30pm MAP: Monday, August 5th, 2019 - 2:30pm – 3:30pm Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 - 1:00pm – 2:00pm Wednesday, August 7th, 2019 - 8:30am – 9:30am 2019-2020 MAP Testing Change: Rapid-Guessing Test Invalidation
MAP will re-introduce the rapid-guessing test invalidation rule for Fall 2019 testing. You can expect improved features for increasing student test engagement, better access to information on tests invalidated due to rapid-guessing, and in-product training and support. Students will receive a message at the start of the test encouraging them to remain engaged. When students rapid-guess, proctors will be notified, and the test will auto-pause so the proctor can re-engage the student and resume the test. After the third auto-pause tests will be stopped, and students will need to retest. To better support retesting processes, educators, including proctors, will have access to reports showing students with invalidated tests due to excessive rapid guessing.
Online Registration opened July 15. We had over 2100 students register on the first day! Please have your OLR Processors continue to communicate with your parents to have this annual update of their demographics data completed ASAP. Updated FAST Dashboard
We are working to streamline the FAST dashboard by incorporating both reading and math results into one dashboard. The new dashboard is located here. |
WAIT... WHAT?
Dear Data Diva:
Could someone please remind me when we set the Iowa Assessments in the calendar for next spring. I’m trying to put together a calendar and prepare logistics schedules.
Signed,
Being Proactive
Dear Being Proactive,
The dates for ISASP administration will be as follows:
Elementary Schools: March 30th, 2020 - April 10th, 2020
Middle and High Schools: March 25th, 2020 - April 10th, 2020
Once the school year official begins, we will be working with buildings to design a schedule with specific days and times. It’s important to get input from schools when designing this schedule so don’t be surprise if we reach out for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Data Diva

April Murray
I joined the Assessment, Data and Evaluation team in the fall of the 18-29 school year as Assessment and Data Project Specialist. When I am not working on special projects in the ADE department, I have assisted with the launch of the new Iowa Assessment (ISASP), school improvement efforts, and the district’s continuous improvement initiative. On a personal note, I love spending time with my family, husband Quintin, daughter Qierra (23) and son QC (14). I enjoy reading and listening to my vast Prince vinyl collection. My husband and I enjoy watching our children play their favorite sport, basketball and we all enjoy traveling back to our home state of North Carolina.
