Action Needed: 2019-2020 Proper and Ethical Test Assurances
The Iowa Department of Education requires a signed copy of the Assurances for Proper and Ethical Test Administration form for every PK-12 building principal each fall/winter.  Please ensure the form is signed and emailed to April Murray (april.murray@dmschools.org) by September 14th, 2019.

FERPA Reminder
DMPS cannot share potentially personally identifiable information with non-staff--that includes the school board, media, and community partners that we do not have an MOU in place with. We cannot share educational or health records about individual students. When sharing information about groups of students, we cannot share information about groups that contain less than 10 students.
Staff Conducting Research
If you have staff members conducting research in your school for a graduate program, their research proposal must be approved by the district.  Applications for research are located here.

Fall MAP Assessment Window Opens Tuesday
Fall MAP testing is open from September 4 through October 4.  Second through tenth grade students will take both the math and reading assessments.  Guidance for the 2019-2020 MAP administration is located here.
Make sure that your proctors are aware of the new auto-pause feature in MAP this year. The Proctor Quick Sheet gives directions on how to return students who are rapidly guessing to testing. There is also the 2019 Training & Updates PowerPoint available in these resources that demonstrates the new features in MAP for 2019-20.

WAIT...  WHAT?

Dear Data Dude,
I am spending hours every week pulling ad hocs and sorting & filtering data in excel. Isn’t there a report or a process that will do this for me?

Signed, Mr. Inefficient

Dear Mr. Inefficient,
We may already have reports that answer your questions in Tableau. If not, fill out a data request and we can write a tableau report to help you. We can even schedule the report to be emailed to you periodically. If you still love Excel, you can download the data directly to Excel.
If the data lives in Infinite Campus, we can help get you what you need!
Sincerely, Data Dude
